First Time Home Buyers Seminar
Real estate professionals present a clear path to homeownership for first time buyers
Keller Williams Realty Downtown, at 901 Auraria Parkway, will host a free seminar for first time homebuyers on Wednesday, Oct. 16th. from 6 to 8pm. This seminar will include informational presentations by area Realtors, mortgage lenders, and home inspection services. The seminar will also allow plenty of time for questions and answers.
This two hour seminar is designed to give future home owners an honest look at the benefits and realities of owning a home in the hot Denver market. First time buyers, as well as people new to Denver area, will get an insight as to which neighborhoods provide the best value, strategies for financing, the home buying process, choosing the right house, and understanding the home inspection.
“Right now is probably the best time for first time buyers to get started in fulfilling the dream of buying a house,” said real estate expert, Ruth Cullis. “Interest rates are still unusually low, inventory is increasing, and home prices are still reasonable. First time buyers who wait for the next cycle might be waiting for a long time. If interest rates jump over the next 18 months, they will definitively lose buying power.”
In addition to market snapshots and analysis by three area Realtors, home mortgage specialist, Johanna Stubblefield from Academy Mortgage Corp. will cover the many avenues for finding mortgages, down payment assistance, and special financing programs aimed at helping first time buyers. “There are many programs across the metro area that will help people who are just starting out buy a home. Some programs will get you into a house with a small down payment and with payments you can manage,” said Stubblefield. “You just need to know where to look. I think people will be surprised by their many options.”
Lee Kastberg, Franchise Owner/Certified Home Inspector from Pillar to Post Home Inspectors, will walk attendees through the home inspection process. “Every home buyer needs to understand how to separate the critical components of a home inspection from the items that are simply cosmetic. Knowing what to look for will help them get the best deal and house with very few surprises,” said Kastberg. “When buying a home, at any price level, a thorough home inspection by a qualified inspector can save thousands of dollars in the long run.”
This seminar is presented free of charge and without any obligation by select broker associates of Keller Williams Realty Downtown. Presenting brokers include Ruth Cullis, Jessie Romero (Hablo Español), and Steve White. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided. Space is limited, please RSVP to RuthCullis@kw.com or call 303-539-5818.
